The new ISO 9001: 2015 standard brings very important changes, although the most prominent one is the incorporation of the risk-based approach in the Quality Management Systems. It is a set of quality standards, established by the International Organization for Standardization.

Since 2000, organizations must be managed by processes; However, it has been in this version of 2015 when they are advocating and asking for them to be implanted in organizations.

The certifying organisms themselves are already verifying this in the audits. Taking advantage of the visit of Vicente Ruiz, Partner-Director of the Consulting Area of the company SAYMA, we had the chance to be with him so that he could tell us about the new process management that is being implemented in AGA:

-We have taken advantage of the adaptation of the new 2015 version to strengthen the process management in AGA. This will mean, in addition to identifying better what the processes are, taking the step towards their management. That is, create teams, modify the map and identify flows within the company; especially the operational flows. We have already created three teams to work on these operational processes and from there we are defining the people, documentation and work that these teams have to do.

The people who make up the teams are the ones who really have responsibility and can make decisions to improve the process. Consequently, at this moment we are working in the teaching phase: “These people must know what they have to take into account, with what indicators, what information and above all, where the discrepancies arise” –

A clear commitment of AGA for the quality that will substantially improve the operational processes, but which we put in place with an eye on customer service.
